What is SynTuition®?

SynTuition®* is the first-of-its-kind application of artificial intelligence (AI) to aid in the diagnosis of Periprosthetic Joint Infection (PJI).  SynTuition® uses an algorithm that was developed using unsupervised machine-learning to combine multiple test results to alleviate the need for physicians to interpret multiple test reports, apply and calculate a diagnostic criteria, and diagnosis. SynTuition® uses a single aspiration, tested by a single laboratory, to provide enhanced results for PJI.

SynTuition® brings together the results for 11 analytes and assesses not only their individual results, but the interaction with other analytes. Included are:

  • Synovasure® Alpha Defensin
  • Synovasure® Microbial Identification* (includes testing for Staphyloccocus** genus, Enterococcus genus, Candida genus and C. acnes)
  • Synovial Fluid C-Reactive Protein (CRP)
  • White Blood Cell (WBC) Count with Differential (includes WBC, PMN% and Red Blood Cell (RBC) Count)
  • A280 (Absorption at 280nm)
